I Was Dismissed From My Job at TRT

Is it not enough...

Like nearly 200 thousand people; I was dismissed from my job at TRT(Turkish Radio and Television Corporation) by Decree Law No. 672, without any investigation or even a single line of my statement being taken.

I wasn't allowed to do my profession.

My 30-year-old rights were confiscated.

I was dismissed on the grounds that I worked for a short period at Zaman Newspaper 30 years ago [Such an offense(!) does not exist in our constitution]. Yet, General Manager Hüseyin Gülerce,Chief Columnist Fehmi Koru, Editor-in-Chief Nabi Avcı, writers Yasin Aktay, Ahmet Davutoğlu, Nihal Bengisu Karaca, İbrahim Kalın, etc… were not subjected to a single investigation.

In other words, as per the lists prepared years ago; Poor Anatolian children were subjected to massacre in a theater of justice. Those who walked arm in arm with the mentioned structure in the past were rewarded. Since we did not have a photo taken in Pennsylvania, the path to prison was shown to us.

During a prison visit my mother could not recognize me, and soon after, she passed away in sorrow from missing her child. I only learned of my mother's death the night I was released. Though I shouted the injustice in the courtrooms, everyone turned a deaf ear and a blind eye. Because; the sword in the hand of blindfolded Themis, the symbol of justice, was broken and the scales were distorted.

While those who came to power with the cry of Caliph Omar's justice were committing injustice; so-called Muslims did not object even once in the face of the oppression, instead, they even supported and applauded the opression, Leaving no justice nor Omar!

Before July 15; I was exiled to 23 provinces and 166 districts. I shouted in every environment that I was oppressed, because I never betrayed my homeland and nation. I was neither involved in the coup nor was I a party to it, at first; I reacted by saying, "I will not salute a tank whose barrel is pointed at people." In fact, the issue had nothing to do with the coup at all. The main issue was, so to speak, the wolf devouring the lamb and finding an excuse to do so.

During this challenging period, I got to know my fair-weather friends and true friends very well. To use an analogy, I recognized the crocodile tears of fake friends and relatives who, like a fox making plans, hunted with a wolf, and mourned with the sheep. And there are those who snickered, saying, “serves you right,” “You deserves this,” I noted them too. It is incomprehensible when you don't fall, I fell and then I experienced it.

The waves blew hard but did not leave dust and dirt on the ship.

During this period, I did not bow to anyone, I did not walk around with my head down, and I did not clown any mortal.

I sought not mercy but justice, but it was not to be…I couldn't do anything other than say, "Let your position and the world be yours, use it to the fullest."

I said God, I swallowed hard, it snowed on my hearth(stove) in the August heat, and I froze...

This winter will pass, too, but I will never forget the frost I had.

Those who cook food from the fire in other people's houses, my sly friends who keep silent and support the oppression, you are also accomplices of this oppression, and I will never forget you!

I couldn't do it, I couldn't succeed, it didn't work, I couldn't spin like a pinwheel! But I left an honorable stance to my true friends, family and children.

Is not it enough!
